HK is also a standing member of the Watches and Jewellery Initiative (WJI2030), which Cartier and Kering Group co-founded to gather companies and organisations in the watches and jewellery industry aiming to make a positive impact.
As a member of WJI2030, HK and its subsidiaries have committed to setting SBTi targets, aligning its business practices with the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), and robust sustainability reporting and compliance. HK is India and Asia's first diamond manufacturing company to commit to Science-Based Targets (SBTi). Under the founders’ leadership, this commitment solidifies HK Group’s vision for decarbonisation and environmental conservation.
Aside from compliance reporting and setting ambitious sustainability targets for the diamond and jewellery industry, HK implements sustainability and climate training amongst its employees by partnering with the United Nations Global Compact Network India and Climate Reality Project, a global network of climate leaders founded by former United States Vice President Al Gore. HK further solidified its commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by becoming a member of the United Nations Global Compact after hosting a United Nations Water Conference Gala in March 2023 in New York, USA, gathering industry leaders to talk about sustainability. HK is incubating the company's next sustainability leaders through the SDG Accelerator Program. See HK’s UN SDG Portfolio.
