K. Girdharlal, most commonly known as 'KG', is a vertically integrated diamond company that was originally formed in Surat in India as a diamond trading company in 1967.
KG’s core production focuses on round brilliants between 0.10 and 5ct in commercial colours, VS, Si and Piqué clarities. KG is also a recognised supplier of Emerald cuts and round-edged fancies (Marquises, Ovals, and Pears).
Over the past four decades, KG has successfully established a presence throughout the diamond value chain: rough sourcing, cutting and polishing, polished trading, jewellery manufacturing and haute joaillerie.
KG employs over 2,000 people, with a distribution network that covers every diamond consuming market. This global footprint, combined with a deep integration between manufacturing and sales, enable KG to be capable of sustainably participate to virtually every retail programme worldwide in pointers and caraters of any quality. It actually already successfully supplies all the largest retailers in every regional market and belongs to the top 3 preferred suppliers of piqué pointers rounds.
Corporate Social Responsibility
As part of its moral commitment to wider society, there are numerous medical, educational, disaster relief activities undertaken by KG and its directors over the years.
For instance, the company entirely conceived and financed the Fountainhead school in Surat; the first International Baccalaureate campus in the area with over 1,500 pupils.
Moreover, KG has implemented a very active environmental CSR strategy. Our entire energy consumption for manufacturing operations is met through captive renewable energy. We have set up wind power plants and are surplus in energy generation over our total global consumption of energy, thus making our entire operations 100% green.
